Brandon Meriweather Suspended

Brandon Meriweather suspension: Redskins S out 2 games

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports
Brandon Meriweather has been suspended two games.
Brandon Meriweather has been suspended two games by the NFL for perceived head-hunting hits on Chicago Bears wide receivers Brandon Marshall and Alshon JefferyMike Garafolo of Fox Sports reports. Weathering was flagged for personal fouls on both hits
Meriweather has earned a reputation for being one of the most aggressive hitters in the league. The Washington Redskins safety already earned a $42,000 fine earlier this season for leading with his helmet on a hit that gave a concussion to Green Bay Packersrunning back Eddie Lacy.
After Sunday's game, Marshall told the Chicago Tribune that Meriweather deserved a suspension.
"Guys like that really don't understand that there is life after football," Marshall said. "I respect the league trying to better our game and guys like that, maybe he needs to get suspended or taken out of the game completely."
Whether Meriweather changes his ways remains to be seen. Prior to Monday's suspension, he had racked up $137,000 in fines through seven seasons in the NFL.
With Meriweather out, the Redskins will likely turn to rookie Bacarri Rambo to start at safety. Rambo started the first two games of the season for the Redskins before being demoted.
