Keys to Redskins vs. Packers

After last weeks lost to the Eagles the skins get set to take on Green Bay.  What to watch for week 2 is listed down below. The skins hope to rebound and several players will need a good game to do this.

1. Robert Griffin Improvement

RG3 started off slow. All the ideas of him being rusty came out to be true. His throws were off as well as his foot work. Several times he under threw or missed his target player due to poor foot work. After the half RG3 came back looking much better. Partially due to the fact the Eagles let down the guard but his mechanics were better. Look for him to make a statement after losing to Philly.

2. Alfred Morris Improvement
Alfred Morris was a wild card in the game. All eyes were on Griffin to see if there was rust but apparently Morris was rusty as well. This could be considered expected because he only had 8 carries in the preseason. Look for him to fix his fumbling woes and return to the old form of Morris.

3. Welcome back Brandon Meriweather
The Redskins safety position in 2012 starters were suppose to be the man above and Tanard Jackson. The total combined games that they played in a total of .25 games. Yes, neither have played in a full regular season game while on the skins. Look for him to play like he did the Eagles the 1 quarter he played. those who don't remember it his stats were 1 interception 2 pass deflections and 7 total tackles all in 1 quarter of play.

4. Defense needs to stay strong
In all honesty if you erase the 3 early turnovers the skins still would be demolished. not to be negative but the fumble recovery to the end zone was luck and the Eagles clearly took the foot off the gas vs the skins in terms of up tempo. When the Eagles were up tempo they demolished the skins. The good part of this is when they switched to a slightly closer version of Green Bays traditional tempo offense it worked well. The tackling was poor and the coverage was weak look for improvements in those 2 areas.

5. Nice to have you Jordan Reed

Mike Shanahan has made a habit of shocking picks in the drafts. So far he been 2/2 on them. Jordan Reed cam in as a project TE very good physical skills and minimum TE skills. Remember he played QB in college. He showed why he should of been picked. HE Had sever catches were he ran great routes. He also showed the QB in him. He was precise with his routes and knew were the ball will be thrown and were he needed to be. Reed and Davis form a dynamic Duo at the TE position. Look for more 2 TE sets coming in.

Extra notes

Please have Santana Moss be the man in charge of the returns due to Chris Thompson failure at punt returning. In case you missed it Thompson ran for more yards sideways then he did north to south. Not to mention his brilliant kick returns out to the 10. Yes it may be nerves and he may bounce back but Moss needs to be used in this role.
